Get-rich-quick learning about Buddha

Buddhist:
I am a Buddhist and I believe that you should change your following of Jainism to follow the true, original Siddhartha Gautama teachings of reaching true nirvana. We are not different from each other in that we want to leave the desires of possessions and pleasure for a simple and humble life. We want to dedicate ourselves to preaching non-violence and being free from anything ascetic in this world.
What differs between us is that we believe that the simple life is not a life of extreme poverty. We do not advocate living the streets or living on the generosity of others. The reason why is because if everyone eventually followed the teaching of Jainism, we would not be able to sustain that model as that would rely on others pursuing worldly money and goods in order to surplus to give to the poor.
We believe in a self-reliance system in which we provide ourselves with our own food and shelter and practice chastity and simplicity in our everyday acts. We preach non-violence and would like to help people less fortunate than us. The ultimate goal, which to us is bigger than any worldly goods or pleasures, is the wisdom of the wise and self-enlightenment, much in the same manner as the original Buddha once achieved it under a tree.
Jainism response:
I am a practitioner of Jainism and and I believe in the enlightenment myself in a similar way to you. I feel as if the life of someone poverty stricken helps to lessen the dependency on worldly goods and you can become free from coveting pleasures as bare essentials become more than luxury in our everyday lives.
I do admire the self-suffiency of Buddhism and I do realize that the Jainism model is not a world model by any means. I would rather preach something that the whole world can live by than to teach and live a life that can only by lived by some, which is the life of a beggar dependent on the goodwill of others in order to live.
I would like to maybe explore the Buddhist model for a whole and then decide whether I would like to live as a Jainism practitioner or continue on with Buddhist principles as my ideological basis.
